Delete your BCH Scan account
Last updated: 20 October 2026 · Version française
Since version 1.0.7, BCH Scan is used with an account: you sign in with Apple, with Google or with your email address (a one-time code), without ever creating a password. This page explains how to delete this account, what deletion erases, and what it does not.
1. From the app, in two taps
This is the quickest way, and it needs no one else: open the app, Profile tab, Data section, then Delete my account. The app asks you to confirm twice on screen, with no email to wait for; deletion is then immediate and permanent.
Just above, Export my data gives you everything the server holds about you, before you erase anything.
2. Without the app, by email
If you have uninstalled the app, or can no longer access it, write to contact@bettercallhealth.com with the subject BCH Scan account deletion.
Write from your account's address: that of your Google account, the one you gave to sign in, or, if you signed in with Apple, the address you shared with BCH Scan (an Apple relay address forwards your message to us in the same way). For an account created before version 1.0.7, without sign-in, give your identifier, which you will find in the app, Profile tab, at the very bottom of the screen (the first characters are enough). Without one of these, the request cannot go through, and we will tell you so rather than delete an account at random.
We handle the request within thirty days, and confirm the deletion by reply.
3. What deletion erases
Everything linked to the account on the server goes with it, in a single step: the products scanned and their results, the history, the shopping list, the follow-ups, the usage events, the answers to the questionnaire, the Premium codes used, the declared situation, the alerts, the feelings and the goals, your sign-in account (the identifier Apple or Google gives you, the account's email address, Apple's relay address if you had chosen it, your first name if it had been sent to us) and your choice about app news. If you had signed in with Apple, deletion also removes BCH Scan's access to your Apple ID.
Your blood test values never left your phone: they are not on our servers, so there is nothing to delete there. They disappear when you uninstall the app, or when you erase the values one by one in the Blood tests tab.
4. What deletion does not erase
Your subscription. It is managed by Apple or by Google, never by us. Deleting your BCH Scan account neither cancels nor refunds it. Cancellation is done in your Apple account settings (Settings, your name, Subscriptions) or in Google Play (Payments & subscriptions).
Invoices. We issue none and receive no bank details; the stores' accounting records follow their own retention rules.
The subscription record at RevenueCat, the provider that manages subscriptions: an anonymous identifier, the purchases and, on iPhone, where the installation came from. It follows the periods set out in sections 3.7 and 3.8 bis of the privacy policy; once your account is deleted, nothing on our side links it to you any more.
The server's technical logs (IP address and connection information), which do not contain the content of your scans, follow their own retention period, given in section 3.9 of the privacy policy. Backups are kept for 30 days: a deleted account disappears from the backups at the latest at the end of that period. The anonymous statistics (section 4 of the policy) are recalculated every night: a deleted account no longer counts from the next calculation.
The photos of a product you added (the front of the pack and its ingredient list, section 3.5 bis of the privacy policy): they remain that product's image, with no further link to you. To have one removed, write to privacy@bettercallhealth.com.
5. Your other rights
Access, rectification, portability, objection, restriction: the app's privacy policy sets them out and explains how to exercise them. You can also lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) in the United Kingdom, the Data Protection Commission in Ireland, or the supervisory authority where you live.
